"Confiscated Properties: Architecture, Ideology, and Performance" aims to activate and permeate a confiscated property through a calendar of community-based events and performances.
On Saturday June 16th 2018 at 11am, a volunteer ensemble performs a new work devised and composed collectively by the participants, in collaboration with British composers Barry Russell, Tony Harris and Robin McGinley (The Great Learning Orchestra), students from Liceo delle Scienze Umane e Linguistico "Danilo Dolci" and Conservatorio di Musica Vincenzo Bellini, young students from Teatro Atlante, and musicians from Curva Minore, Palermo. The opening performance is the start of a process where the musical material will be used as the basis for a series of performance activities over the succeeding 140 days (from June 16th to November 4th 2018). "Confiscated Properties: Architecture, Ideology, and Performance" is part of the collateral events programme of Manifesta12 Palermo.

Candyland is a non-profit exhibition space run by nine people who take turns in inviting artists to exhibit. Candyland was founded in February 2004.
The launch of ‘Caress. A Candid Approach.’ is organised as part of the curriculum of the second year MA Curating Art, International Master’s Programme at Stockholms universitet. The Great Learning Orchestra performed "Caress a musical score" written by the editorial team and also a selection of scores from the a4-room project. It all took place June 1st 2018. |
